This 16th volume in the series Polish Diplomatic Documents contains 316 documents on Polish foreign policy in 1932.
The most important event of the year was the International Disarmament Conference, inaugurated in Geneva on 2 February. On the multilateral front, the Lausanne Conference came to the fore: a decision was reached there to suspend the payment of reparations imposed after World War I.
Standing out among bilateral events were the signing of a non-aggression treaty with Russia (25 July) and its consequences for relations with France and Romania.In the course of 1932, Minister of Foreign Affairs August Zaleski, who held the office from 1926, was replaced by the Józef Beck.
The primary sources used in the volume come from the Central Archives of Modern Records, the Polish Institute and Sikorski Museum in London, the Józef Piłsudski Institute of America, and the State Archives in Gdańsk.
The bulk of the presented documents have never been published previously.The volume contains a name index and an extended subject index; and the preface carries information about the structure and personal movements at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
